St. Stephen's Steps
An award-winning public space in the heart of Bandra
St. Stephen’s Steps is an accessible, barrier-free, multi-use public space for gathering, performances and community events. Once a derelict, neglected, narrow staircase, the steps were envisaged by Abraham John Architects and Bombay Greenway to become more than simply a transit-space connecting the lower and upper parts of Mount Mary. The project was supported by MCGM H/West Ward Office.
"The freedom to make and remake our cities and ourselves is, I want to argue, one of the most precious yet most neglected of our human rights".
- David Harvey
